It is estimated that in 2020, approximately 276,480 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and close to 42,170 women will die from breast cancer. According to cancer.org breast cancer mortality rates declined by 39% between 1989 and 2015 largely due to increased awareness of the disease and earlier screening and detection procedures.
